On Monday, Jason, Rob and I went to the MFA. It was really nice. You couldn't photograph any of the paintings, so I just took a few pictures of non-paintings.
The MFA has a large section of Egyptian art. I was determined to find a cat statue, since I think my cat, Sweeney, looks like an Egyptian kitty.
This lemur poster is just damn cool.
And those are all of the pictures I took. Pretty pathetic, huh?
I went to Boston for the tenth annual Boston Theatre Marathon. I was in town May 9-12. I was pretty lazy taking photos this time around. Plus, this was my fourth time in Boston, so I already have a lot of pictures from there. Anyway, here are photos from the 9th and 10th (sorry that the narrative is all disjointed):
I stayed with my friend, Jason. While we were driving to his house, we stopped at Walden Pond.
Later that evening, Jason carved a Cyclops squash:
The next morning, I helped with some yard work. I chopped down 1-1/2 10-feet-tall rose bushes in the front of the house:
Then, we went to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum:
After that, we walked around the city to find a place to eat. Along the way, we took this picture.
Walking back to the car, we walked through a park and saw this flower heart someone had made.
More later ...
And Porn Sunday? I don't even know what to think of that. First of all, I would argue that church isn't the proper forum to have a discussion about pornography. (And what could they say beyond, "It's wrong"?) Second, couldn't they have thought of a better name for the series? Something less titillating than "PORN SUNDAY"?
Last, I find it mildly amusing that the church's motto is "Loving God, loving people." Sex! Porn! We love people! (Leave your Bibles at the door along with your inhibitions, folks!)
RedWantingBlue put on a really good show. Rob compares their sound to the Dave Matthews Band. Me, I'm not sure who I would compare them to (though the lead singer reminds me of the dude from Train). Here is the link to their MySpace page. I think the song "My Alibi" is particularly good.
If you ever get a chance to see them live (and according to their site, they travel all over), I would recommend doing so. The lead singer is super animated and fun to watch.
"Now we can all afford to buy our favorite MILF!! WOO-HOO!!!
America is blessed, indeed.
No, this post isn't about my a$$. Sorry. This post is about the 2008 International Home and Housewares show, which Rob and I attended. He'd gone last year and had had a good time, and also got a lot of free swag. He encouraged me to tag along this year.
One booth was handing out these free water bottles. I love them! I've been trying to move away from disposable bottles (even though I recycle) but the problem is, whenever I put a glass of water by my bed, the cat sticks his furry face in it. I'd been considering using a sports water bottle, but those are ugly, and my God, I don't love the environment THAT much.
You can find more info on these cute bottles here. Unfortunately, I have no idea where you can buy them.
I stopped by the Wing-Time Barbecue booth several times and sort of flirted with the guys there. I really loved the Hot sauce, but when I went back at the end of the day, they only had Garlic left. I haven't tried it yet, but I did find a bottle of the Hot sauce a few days later at Cost Plus World Market. It's soooo good.
I've been curious to try the Mr. Clean Eraser. Also, I got two free jars of the Evercare room freshener. Score!
Other bootie included a free cooking magazine and some barbecue skewers.
P.S. Yes, it is 5:33 a.m. Insomnia, people. It's a beautiful thing.
