Gina Glocksen

I don't normally watch the show American Idol. Honestly, I don't understand all the hype, and I don't watch a lot of television anyway (just Seinfeld re-runs and HGTV).

But, I was a little curious about American Idol this season because Gina Glocksen was a contestant. Gina is from Naperville, Illinois, and used to sing with this really awesome cover band called Catfight. Rob and I have seen them perform several times in bars around the Chicago area, and we both really like them. Gina's got a powerful voice and a confident stage 

presence, and I always had fun watching her perform.

Well, lo and behold, now she's on T.V.! Kind of funny, considering I've seen her in small venues and have stood like 12 feet away from her, and now she's got this big fan following and is all over the Internet. Rob had discovered she was going to be on American Idol from the Catfight Website (and if you google them, be sure to type in Catfightband, because typing only Catfight will lead you to porn sites). Anyway, I happened to be watching T.V. one Monday night when I saw she was about to perform. I had just reached for my cell phone when it began to ring. It was Rob, telling me that Gina was next up on Idol.

It's too bad she was voted off, though honestly I only watched the show that one time and didn't bother to call in a vote. Anyway, she's a talented singer and hopefully the show will further her career.
