Saturday Photos
On Saturday, Rob and I went to the Chicagoloand Pet Expo in Schaumburg. On our way, we stopped by the ice rink where the Blackhawks practice. Sadly for Rob, the online schedule was incorrect and they weren't out that morning. But, we did get to check out the rink, and I snapped the first photo when we got back to the car.
The Pet Expo was a lot of fun. There were a lot of shelters, clubs and rescue groups, pet care/product vendors, and several competitions (mostly purebread cats) at the expo. Rob got to pet a Border Collie (his favorite) and I got to pet a Pug (my favorite). We also petted a hedgehog (above). I thought I would be tempted to buy a hedgie, but for some reason, I wasn't. Both my mom and Rob had told me I'd end up adopting a new pet. They were wrong.
Afterwards, Rob and I went to a few furniture stores (where I fell asleep in a chair waiting for him to be done talking to the salesperson), ate at Outback Steakhouse (one of the few chain restaurants we agree is worth patronizing), and then drove back to the city to go grocery shopping, where I took the photo of the city skyline.
We chilled at my place for a while and then got dressed in green (it was St. Patty's day, after all) in order to go out. We didn't want to go anywhere crazy, so we avoided all the Irish pubs and trendy bars and ended up at the neighborhood bar a block away from my apartment. All in all, it was a nice day (and weekend). :)
